The Teluk Kemang Public Park project was delivered officially by the Housing and Local Government Minister to Chief Minister of Negeri Sembilan on the December 7, 1994. In 1996, it was complete with basic amenities. A drive from Port Dickson to Teluk Kemang can be a memorable one, as the coastal road that hugs the coastline allows visitors to catch spectacular views of the coastline and the sea. The best time to visit Teluk Kemang is during the annual Port Dickson Festival in August when all the water sports activities are in full swing and cultural shows are held for the visitors.

Along most of the beaches in Port Dickson, there are many stalls and shops selling souvenirs and beach gear. Teluk Kemang has the highest concentration of such stalls and shops. Some of the stuff to be found are T-shirts, toys, boards, caps, slippers, beach balls, floats, canopies and other things.
